The clothing closet originally started out as a simple closet offering clothing to those in need. The “clothing closet” has been renamed and dedicated in memory and honor of McKenzie. It is now officially known as
“McKenzie’s Clothing Closet”.
Her story and inspiration will live on with those that visit the closet. The closet which has now grown to a few rooms receives clothing donations from individuals and
allows those in need of clothing to receive clothes at no cost. Individuals receiving clothing include those referred to the church from the Big Bend Homeless Coalition, specifically Hope Community and their network including ECHO, Refuge House, Tallahassee Shelter and even providing clothing for young girls referred from DISC Village. The closet has provided clothing for new born babies to older veterans.
The needs of donations to the closet fluctuate depending on demand but all clothing is accepted.
